On the issue of problems that arise when checking reports of a crime in the criminal process of the Russian Federation

The article discusses the problems that arise when checking reports of a crime in the criminal process of the Russian Federation. The key aspects related to the initial stage of criminal proceedings are analyzed, including the legal and practical difficulties faced by law enforcement agencies. Particular attention is paid to shortcomings in legislation, as well as to the effectiveness and transparency of the crime reporting process. The study is based on the analysis of judicial practice and statistical data, which allows us to identify the main problems, such as abuse in the verification process, insufficient qualifications of employees, as well as the lack of clear criteria for assessing the validity of reports of crimes. The conclusion suggests ways to optimize the verification process, including recommendations for improving legislation and improving the level of professional training of law enforcement officials.
