To the issue of determining the severity of health damage in the investigation of violent crimes

The article considers one of the most urgent problems of forensic medicine - forensic medical examination of the severity of harm to health. The analysis of the expertise of the department of victims, accused and other persons of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Bureau of Forensic Medical Examination for 2014-2016 is carried out. The author outlines a number of problems that significantly hamper the work of law enforcement agencies in the investigation of violent crimes and determines some reasons why forensic experts, who carried out medical examinations to establish the severity of damage to health, haven't established a health damage and a mechanism of causing damage as well.
