The study of historical, source-based literature and material is considered as a method of perception enhancement by students of the history of the era, the style of the performed pieces and the enrichment of modern pedagogical repertoire. Conclusion. The current state of biographics and source study have created strong base for reconstruction of the main life stages and creativity of outstanding persons of the past. On the basis of these materials it is necessary "to open" new pieces of music, which will not only develop pupils in the pianistic respect, but most importantly, will give new vision to processes which happened and occur in modern musical culture. Inclusion of new works in practical pedagogical work in a piano class, studying of works of earlier unknown or little-known composers will not only promote deepening of understanding of various musical styles and directions in musical culture, but can promote development in pupils of independent creative and research approach to the performed repertoire.
