Considering the issue of the lacunarity in the content of the lexical and semantic group with the gradual semantics

The article deals with the principles of the lexicographical fixation of the paradigmatical oppositions of the lexical units included in the lexical and semantic groups “Names of the persons by the level of the professional mastery” in the English language. There is paid special attention to the use of the complex methodology on the basis of the componential specifier as the indicators of the degree of the manifestation of the dominant supporting semantic trait while compiling the lexical entries of the dictionaries of synonyms and antonyms.
