Concerning the specific features of child nutrition in poor families

The article is devoted to the specific features of child nutrition in poor families. The topic is revealed in the social aspect of the stated problems since the main focus is on researching the interrelation and interdependence of the characteristics of nutrition, as well as the living standards of the family with children. The basic features of poverty and the prerequisites for its formation are determined. The category of poor population includes households and families, whose income for non-food needs, medical assistance, and education is minimal, while the main expenditures are on food. By means of the analysis of the official statistics data showing the features of food consumption, households with many children are considered to be poor. Based on products consumed, the features of the family's diet are analyzed. The study reveals that the eating habits of a large family are characterized by a nutritious meal containing a reduced amount of animal protein and many carbohydrates that is the so-called “poor” type of family nutrition.
