To the issue of the formation of the bel canto style

This article considers the stages of formation of the Italian bel canto style of singing. The author gives a description of the vocal techniques of Italy during the XVIIth-XXth centuries on the basis of the works dedicated to the art of singing. The work compares different approaches in vocal pedagogy and traces the stages of formation of the famous vocal style.
