On the issue of marriage in pagan Russia

In this article, the authors consider methods of marriage before the adoption of Christianity in Russia. The article notes that wedding ceremonies and traditions legally confirmed the legality of the marriage and were binding. In addition, the presence of a large number of beliefs and pagan cults led to the formation of superstitions, which even now may have an impact on the marriage and family sphere.
