On the question of healthy nutrition of elderly people in the Republic of Kazakhstan

The article is devoted to the study of the nutritional habits of elderly people in the social service institutions of three large cities of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The relevance of these studies is obvious, since this area is included in the priorities for achieving the goals of the World Health Organization on aging and health. The rations of elderly people of the Republic of Kazakhstan were studied; the needs for basic nutrients and dietary preferences were identified. The results of sociological surveys of elderly people living in social service institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan are presented. Survey results will be used for further research in the field of development of gerodietetic meat products aimed at enriching the diet with proteins, to develop of practical recommendations on nutrition of elderly people. The range of products of gerodietetic profile in the Kazakhstan market is absent; therefore, this line of research is currently acquiring special significance.
