Asymmetry of terminological unit in medical terminology

The article deals with different types of asymmetry of terminological units in Russian and English medical terminology. The author analyses the causes of its development and its influence on the effectiveness of scientific and professional communication in medicine. Special attention is paid to the phenomenon of terminological ambiguity, especially intradisciplinary polysemy.
