Addressing the issue of history and origin of names of provinces in Argentina and their capitals

The macrotoponyms of Argentina, i.e., the names of the Provinces of the latter as well as the names of one autonomous department including the names of the Provinces’ capitals are under investigation hereof. A classification diving the Provinces’ names into three groups depending on the toponym history and origin is offered herein.
