The article analyses if it is possible to use criminal records in the practice of law enforcement bodies. Currently, the use of such records in investigation of crimes is complicated by several factors. The author outlines two main problem areas hindering efficient use of criminal records: technical and human resources-related. Some proposals on how to deal with these problems are formulated.
