On the issue of the object of crimes against public safety

The article considers the issue about the content of the concept of the object of crimes that encroach on public safety. It is established that the object of the crime is determined by a combination of various elements of public relations, which the criminal act is directed to and it determines the corresponding theory and methodology of public safety. It is defined that public safety is a complex of public relations, where safe living conditions of society are ensured; it should be considered in a broad and narrow sense, and it gives the key to answers to a number of other theoretical and practical questions, primarily related to the qualification of a specific crime, as well as for the comprehensive definition of the generic and specific object of the crime. It is noted that it is necessary for the legislator, taking into account the development of public relations, to identify the main threats to public security as threats that harm the socio-economic, spiritual, ecological and other interests of society and the state.
