On the issue of ensuring animal protection by prosecutors

This article analyzes the legislation of the Russian Federation regulating the procedure for handling animals, the role of prosecutors in ensuring the protection of animals. The main attention is paid to the lack of legislative regulation of the seizure of animals from unscrupulous owners. The main problems in the analyzed area are identified and ways to solve them are proposed by amending regulatory legal acts. In order to properly ensure the protection of animals, the author proposes to supplement the powers of prosecutors in civil proceedings, granting the right to apply to the courts with claims for the seizure of animals in case of improper treatment of them.
