Training of specialists in universities of EMERCOM of Russia to provide aid in emergency situations

The main function of fire-rescue units is the implementation of fire-fighting and rescue and other emergency operations. If the fire has affected people, they can get the first medical aid from the firemen and rescuers. Health care workers usually do not have the skills and experience of rescuers to work within the zone of fire fighting and emergency rescue and are not equipped with special protecting equipment. In this regard, medical aid can be provided only outside the boundaries of the emergency zone. Therefore, medical aid to the victims of accidents can be provided only after more than 25 minutes. At the same time, specialists of fire-fighting and rescue units have a limited list of methods of providing on-site first aid. The article is based on the analysis of scientific literature, which allows suggesting certain approaches to medical training of specialists in the field of fire fighting and rescue at the universities of EMERCOM of Russia. It is quite real to build up the system of medical training based on the dual training programmes and linked with medical educational institutions.
