The article examines the range of problems that determine the enormous importance of packaging in the modern food industry, in warehouses, its quality and characteristics. Based on the conducted surveys and data processing, it was found that the evaluation of the survey elements is different, contradictions in the approach to the choice of packaging materials were revealed. The authors present a view on the development of modern approaches to the development and selection of economical and safe types of packaging materials. Based on the results obtained, it is proposed to focus the attention of managers on strengthening control over compliance with hygienic rules for storing food stocks in warehouses.
