Quality of life and clinical characteristics of patients with cancer of various localizations (lungs, stomach, and intestine)

Objective: to study the quality of life and psychopathological state of patients with diagnosis of cancer, various localizations (stomach, lungs and intestine). Materials and methods: psychopathological survey, Beck Depression Inventory, quality of life questionnaire «Rose of Quality of Life». The study included only patients, who have given informed consent for research. Clinical features of psychopathological states in patients with cancer of various localizations (stomach, lungs and intestine), that reduce quality of life and psychological adaptability, are discussed. In the target group, 34 persons (64 %) had not any changes in mental status, in 19 patients (36 %), psychopathological changes in the emotional sphere have been identified. In 11 respondents (58 %), moderately severe anxiety (subclinical level according to Beck Inventory) has been found, in 8 patients (42 %) - a high level of anxiety. Clinical case to illustrate the findings is introduced.
