To manage the human resources of an educational institution and its reserve you need to make a complex analysis of the documentation that influences its efficient operation such as new legal documents regulating the work of educational institutions; the latest version of the Charter; professional standards. At present a comprehensive assessment system of the personnel is being developed. This makes the problem of assessing the relevance of the research and development of human resources of an organization an important one. The paper considers the key issues of education management: economics of education and resource management of an educational organization. The methods used are that of comparison and analysis of the documentation. The main directions of personnel policy and management of human resources in relation to the assessment of the economic component of the staff are considered. The results can be used to increase the competitiveness of the economy, to raise the reproduction of society intellectual potential, to provide social protection and rehabilitation of citizens.
