Russian-Chinese educational partnership in the context of the growing Russian-Chinese educational partnership, the article substantiates the methodology of selecting Russian children's literature for teaching Russian to Chinese children and adolescents, based on the psycholinguistic stages of reading skill formation, age-related cognitive characteristics of students and structural differences between Russian and Chinese languages. The article suggests selection criteria (lexical frequency and thematic relevance, correspondence to psycholinguistic stages, gradual complication of syntax, transparency of morphological forms at early levels, genre suitability with priority of folklore and adapted classics, as well as the degree of cultural adaptation), and describes the step-by-step selection of texts for levels A1-B2 and age groups 5-17 years with recommendations on the application of the spiral principle and multimodal complexes.
