Stone in outlook of Khakasses (end of XIX – XX centuries)

Article is devoted to reconstruction of mythological views of Khakas about a stone. It is a natural and integral part of the nature surrounding the person. General availability and specific properties of a stone promoted that it naturally entered into life, a life and culture of the person. Mastering by it, obviously, was one of the key factors which have defined origin and development of a human civilization. It is known that the first – the most archaic and long stage of human history is called as an era of a stone or the Stone Age. The stone was used in receiving fire. It was the main weapon, the working tool, a construction material, calculating unit, etc. By means of a stone and in its processing the creative, intellectual potential of the person was implemented. It served as an embodiment of valuable and esthetic ideas. I was a demanded subject in daroobmenny processes. Also I became one of the main elements of spiritual culture. It was allocated with miracle magic, predictive and apotropeyny properties. It was widely used in traditional medicine and veterinary science, fortune-telling and other ceremonialism. I acted as the most important object of religious worship and naturally I entered into shaman practice.
