Follow-up study of conscripts of 1998 and 2003 with personality disorders

The long-term follow-up study of young men from Tomsk region with personality disorders, who were exposed to psychiatric military examination at Tomsk Regional Psychiatric Hospital in years 1998 (1 group) and 2003 (2 group) was carried out. Our investigation revealed, that 15 years later after psychiatric military examination only 7,8 % patients from the first group and 10 years later after psychiatric military examination 9,75 % from the second group were under psychiatric supervision. 28,9 % of conscripts in 1998 and 30,8% in 2003 were removed from the psychiatric supervision in connection with stable clinical improvement and complete social adaptation. 63,3 % of conscripts in 1998 and 59,45 % of conscripts in 2003 after the military-psychiatric examination did not seek for psychiatric help. At the same time, in June, 2013 16 (12,5 %) of conscripts of group 1, and 44 (5,7 %) of conscripts of group 2 were under addiction specialist's supervision. In follow-up period 3 offences were committed by persons of the first group and 42 offences - by persons of the second group. In all cases, after a forensic psychiatric examination they were considered legally responsible.
