Categories of scientific knowledge about the universe: on the question of the cognitive representation of concept "Universe"

The article is devoted to the theoretical study of concept "UNIVERSE" in the cognitive aspect. In accordance with categorical approach, concept "UNIVERSE" is considered as the central category of scientific knowledge. This led to an increase in the requirements for the need to search for new linguistic solutions to identify categories of concept "UNIVERSE". The method of cognitive modeling is one of the correct solutions for the conceptual modeling of the categorical apparatus of concept "UNIVERSE" and is an attempt to carry out a heuristic search for conceptually significant slots in the cognitive space of concept "UNIVERSE". In addition, the cognitive representation on the example of the given structure of concept "UNIVERSE" is the identification and generalization of the categorization carried out. Such a position is based on the process of conceptualization and categorization of scientific knowledge. Scientific texts on astronomy and cosmology were used as materials for the study. Due to the modulation of the cognitive space of concept "UNIVERSE", a conceptual understanding of all the structural components of the concept under study (its categories and concepts) occurs, which is an important stage on the way to identifying the conceptual essence of concept "UNIVERSE".
