Categories of ports and their role in the development of cruise destinations

Cruise tourism is the most dynamically developing segment of recreational tourism. Recently, cruise tourism has seen an increase in the number of passengers and visitors. This article assumes that cruise terminal ports play a critical role in the economic and socio-cultural sustainability of destination development by integrating and enabling land-based tourism envisioned by cruise businesses, global tourism operators, private businesses and infrastructure. They promote brands well and collect flows of cruise passengers on the days of the liner's call. Impact of large numbers of people (crowds) in identifying major cities attracting academic and media attention, raising awareness of emissions causing "overtourism", especially in Mediterranean cruise ports. At the same time, research interest in the capacity of cruise tourism and ports has been increased, planning the integration of the flow of cruise tourists into the general tourist flow on its territory. However, studies have focused on inflammation and in patients with port hypersensitivity to this process. This study aims to clarify the growth dynamics that use sustainable land based consumption or those other ports within a cruise. The purpose of the article is to identify the role and place of the cruise port in the process of interaction with cruise market stakeholders. The article also attempts to reveal the characteristics that a port must meet in order to be included in a cruise itinerary.
