Category of causativity in the Buryat language

The article considers some stages in the history of the study of universal functional and semantic category of causation in Buryat linguistics. Almost no research had been done on the issues of causation in the Buryat language. It is shown that the main reason for the lack of attention to the problems of causation is the traditional approach, which did not separate the semantics of causation from the concept of imperative voice. The conceptual content of the category is universal for describing any language at different levels of the language system, so today it is important to determine the specificity of functioning, the place and significance of causation in the system of the Buryat language.
