Cyber-Addictions as Determinants of Victimization of Cyberfraud Victims

Introduction. The most serious threat has been cyberfraud, causing enormous harm, immense damage to the state and society. Cyberfraudsters are constantly improving their criminal activities, and law enforcement agencies are not adequately responding to new criminal challenges, thus victimization of victims of such crimes increases, which indicates the need for scientific research on these issues. Маterials and Methods. Include statistics of cyberfrauds committed, a general philosophical dialectical method of scientific cognition, which made it possible to obtain objective information on the processes and phenomena of the material world, human psychology related to cyberfraud; an empirical research method for analyzing sociological and psychological factors, determining the victimized behavior of victims; comparative analysis, through which the relevance and problems of modern methods of committing cyberfraud are identified; systematization that enabled the author to formulate conclusions and proposals for the prevention of victimization in cyberfraud. Results and Discussion. Cyberfraud is extremely dangerous, as it causes enormous damage to the state and citizens, thus it is necessary to prevent victimization and give immediate law enforcement response. For a timely criminal legal response to the new challenges of cyber-fraudsters, it is necessary to establish the determinants of victimization of cyberfraud victims. It appears that these determinants are the cyber-addictions that shape victimized behavior. Conclusions. The activity of cyberfraudsters has increased, which is confirmed by official statistics in the form of a significant increase in cybercrimes and low level of solving them; determinants of victimization of cyberfraud victims in the form of cyber-addictions being identified. The correlation between the manifestation of changes in psychology of behavior and worldview of modern generations and victimization of cyberfraud victims is shown. The paper contains recommendations to apply a systematic approach to prevent victimization of victims of cyberfraudsters.
