Chinese tale in the Kalmyk poem “Bell” by Andrey Dzhimbiev: creative story

The article examines cross-cultural elements in the poem “The Bell” (1960) by Kalmyk poet A. Dzhimbiev, based on the Chinese folk tale of the same name. The purpose of the article is to study the creative history of the creation of the work, to identify the author’s task when referring to Chinese folklore, the transformation of the plot in the Russian translation of the poem, the differentiation of “alien” and “our own” in both texts of the Kalmyk poet.
