The Chinese ballet: synthesis of national and European traditions

Ballet art, as an art form of Western culture, appeared in China at the beginning of the XX century. But only after 1949, when the People's Republic of China had been established, the first professional troupe was made - «The National Ballet of China» that has received worldwide recognition at present. The synthesis of the national and European traditions is shown considering the Chinese ballets «Beautiful Fish», «Red Women's Squad», «Gray-haired Girl» as examples.
