Classical theories of electoral behaviour: resources and limitations

The article deals with the Western classical theories of electoral behaviour (sociological, socio-psychological, rational choice theory) and the approach associated with communication and information theories. The author presents the main findings about the extent to which these approaches can be applied in the Russian conditions.
