The paper presents a study of clinical and hemodynamic characteristics of hypertensive patients depending on the type of circadian biorhythm and blood pressure profile. The survey involved 158 patients (58 females and 106 males) of mean age of 41.5 (34-51) with newly diagnosed or untreated hypertension with different disease stages, degrees, and hypertension risk factors. Circadian biorhythms of patients were assessed daily with the help of the international Horne-Ostberg questionnaire (1976) and the "lark-or-owl" test developed by A.A. Putilov (1997); ambulatory blood pressure monitoring was performed. The study identified clinical and hemodynamic features of hypertensive patients according to their circadian biorhythms. Data of the study suggest that different approaches to preventive chronotherapy will be beneficial in patients with different circadian biorhythm-dependent features of hypertension.
