Background. Studying the impact of complicated course of new coronavirus infection on the cardiovascular system in the long term after patient discharge from hospital is of high significance.Purpose. To compare the clinical and echocardiographic parameters of persons with history of verified COVID-19 pneumonia one year after discharge from hospital depending on the value of left ventricular (LV) global longitudinal strain (GLS).Material and Methods. A total of 116 patients (50.4% men) aged 49.0 ± 14.4 years (from 19 to 84 years) with history of verified COVID-19 pneumonia were examined one year ± three weeks after discharge. The parameters of left ventricular global and segmental longitudinal strain were studied in 80 patients with optimal quality of echocardiographic visualization.
