This article is focused on the results of clinical and laboratory findings in men with metabolic syndrome (MS). The evaluation of mental and emotional condition of these patients is also given. We used to examine 54 patients with MS aged 26-63 years. The examination included measurement of anthropometric parameters, as well as the blood sampling with testing testosterone fractions, cpeptide, leptin, glucose and lipid profiles. The men were followed through AMS questionnaires, the Beck Depression Scale and the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale. It had been revealed that the androgen deficiency in men with MS is accompanied with high rate of obesity, severe insulin resistance and hypertriglyceridemia, and, as a result, leads to increase of cardiovascular diseases. The isolated estimation of total and disposable testosterone without accessible profile of testosterone, connected with albumin, can be a reason for late diagnosis and prescription of substitutive androgens therapy. Consequently, low testosterone level contributes to anxiety and depression.
