Book by A. P. Kazhdan “Byzantine culture (X-XII centuries)” and the formation of cultural studies in Russia

The article shows the importance of the national historical science, first of all, Byzantine studies for the development of a new methodological paradigm in the study of culture, in the development of the field of knowledge, which is currently called cultural studies. The book by A. P. Kazhdan “Byzantine culture (X-XII centuries)”, which was highly appreciated by the leading philosophers of Russian culture as a vivid realization of the cognitive request of the humanitarian scientific community.
