The article is devoted to the study of the graphic novel as one of the types of izotext. In the last decade, this format has become popular among the young reader. The author examines the specifics of the graphic novel, its developing potential, substantiates the position that this format of presenting a book text can be used as a means of motivating and managing the child's reading process.
