The article investigates the problem of the individual's moral development. The object of study is chosen not by chance, since the psychological aspects of a person's moral development are subjected to the instability and deviation. The study is based on the thorough analysis of the cognitive theory of Kohlberg L., who extended the theory of Piaget J. and added three levels of moral reasoning, each of which consists of two stages, recognizing that the behavior depends not only on the estimated accuracy of the action, but also on the understood personal liability of the individual. The author has investigated the levels and stages of the study with the detailed description. Meanwhile, adherents of the theory of the social doctrine consider disputable the notion of moral development stages on the grounds that the level of moral reasoning varies depending on contents and that people selectively approach to application of the moral principles.
