Cognitive phonological research in linguistics

Бесплатный доступ

The article analyses the status of cognitive phonological research in modem linguistics. The author reveals the deep psychological and philosophical-semiotic roots of the domestic cognitive approach to the study of language sound means, noting the applied character of cognitive phonology studies abroad. The interdisciplinary approach is recognized as the most efficient. The focus is also on the cognitive nature of the language phonological means as the products of human mind, and on their role in the process of linguistic semiosis. A model for describing the phonetic-phonological module as a multidimensional dynamic neurocognitive formation operating on the basis of the cross-level coordination principles is discussed.
