The article defines the place of the “Orchestra class” in the space of modular competency approach in vocational education. Shown its determinants in a musical-educational process at the level of the disciplines, disciplinary blocks (modules). Presents a detailed communication structure “Orchestral class.” Attention is drawn to the importance of training, educating environment, the orchestral class, its role as a means and process of learning (education), outcome of the artistic product. Considered the leader of each orchestral group as a sample, a positive example. Draws attention to the fact that in the orchestral band leader can play the role of mentor as part of a creative collaboration provides “patronage”, the orchestra helps in solving performance tasks. Indicates that a permanent positive example in the form of the game concertmaster of the leading performers in each orchestral group is not a one-time act, but a system-sequential educational process. Reveals the educational nature of the conductor, is able to load any bandsman in the process of learning, research, reflection, development. Emphasizes the idea that “ Orchestral class “ is a true school of the artistry, creative freedom.
