The communicative-oriented approach as a means of forming the communicative competence of students in teaching foreign languages

Within the framework of this article, a modern approach to teaching foreign languages is considered. In the 80s of the last century, in the process of studying speech communication, the main direction in the methodology of teaching foreign languages appeared, which received the definition of "communicative methodology". At the same time, the communicative methodology was based on a communicative-oriented approach. The essence of this approach, the founder of which in modern methodology is E.I. Passov, lies in the approximation of the process of teaching foreign languages to the conditions of real communication.
