Comorbidity with autism spectrum disorders in children

To identify comorbid mental disorders in children with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) we examined 204 children divided into 3 groups. As a result of clinical follow-up studies the comorbidity of ASDs with epilepsy, depression and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) was revealed, clinical variants of the course of this disease in different age periods were described and the main criteria for early diagnosis and timely adequate pharmacotherapy and psycho-pedagogical correction were formed.
