Competence oriented task as a tool for diagnostics of high school students’ professional competencies

With the transition to federal state educational standards of higher education there is a need for formation professional competencies of students. Competence oriented task is one of the tools for professional competence diagnostics. The article deals with the basic concepts, various approaches to their definition and structure of competence oriented tasks. The structure of a task comprises incentive, formulation, source, and verification tool. We give a detailed description of the algorithm for creation of such tasks. To successful formation of professional competencies as a result of learning engineering graphics with the basics of design task formulation should include some kind of a problem situation or a problem. The competence oriented task for future teachers of vocational training in the field of decorative arts and design is given as an example.
