Study of archaeological pottery elucidates cultural traditions of the Russian population living in Siberia in the Modern period and establishes the chronological markers based on morphological and technological features. The collections from the settlement layer of the Ananyino I site in the Tara Irtysh region became the basis for such studies. The site has been systematically investigated for over ten years. Pots are the main and most common type of pottery. The referential series have been selected according to morphological and technological features for this variety of pottery. During the excavations of a dwelling complex in 2022, numerous and multi-layered assemblages of pottery fragments and intact vessels were found; the collection was subsequently studied for type and morphological diversity of the vessels, as well as their manufacturing technique. The preliminary analysis has shown that most of the evidence fits the selected referential groups in terms of morphology and technological features. Several vessels of atypical forms included a low pot with wide neck, which finds parallels in pottery collection from Mangazeya. This makes it possible to suggest synchronous existence of such pots. Black-polishing dishes discovered in a dwelling and in the remaining excavation area constitute a large percentage of pottery found in 2022. They include bowls, small creamer pots, and some large pots. This suggests classifying such dishes as different categories of kitchen and dining utensils. In addition to pots, typical varieties of pottery included bowls, frying pans, and pans for making crepes. Further analysis of the collection would make it possible to reconstruct various aspects of daily life among the population of the village of Ananyino.
