The purpose of the research was to comparatively study the effect of the combined use of a sorbent and probiotic on weaned piglets. We studied economically useful features and histological structure of the liver of weanling piglets of large white breed at complex application in the diet of sorbent bentonite clay of Zamankulsky deposit of RNO-Alania and probiotic "Sporothermin"). Probiotic and clay were administered in complex. As a result of the study it was found that the live weight of weanling pigs in the experimental group at the age of 90 days was 4.6% higher and 6.1% higher at the age of 120 days. Sorption properties of clay were reflected in the decrease in the content of pathogenic microflora, namely enterococci, staphylococci and Escherichia coli - 1.7; 1.4 and 1.5 times, respectively, and increase in the content of lactic acid bacteria - 1.3 times. In histological studies of the liver of weanling piglets, changes in the structure of the liver in the experimental group, as well as an increase in the number of nuclei in hepatocytes were observed. All indicators were within physiological norms. Regarding slaughter weight, it is 2.7 kg higher in the experimental group compared to the control.
