Comprehensive description of endangered languages as a prerequisite for the preservation of linguistic diversity in the Siberian region

Бесплатный доступ

The article discusses the prerequisites for preserving the linguistic diversity in Siberia. Along with the clear language policy, the focus of state bodies on solving language problems, supporting the process of training teachers, publishing dictionaries and teaching aids, we postulate the existence of such an important prerequisite as a comprehensive linguistic description of all language formations common in Siberia. We have considered the possibilities, some aspects and details of such a description on the example of the Koibal subdialect of the Khakass language, the Shor and Soyot languages. Among the priorities are the changes in the modern languages of the group under study and the reasons for their occurrence. We insist on the importance of preparing a list of languages and dialects of the Siberian region that are not described in sufficient detail in the scientific literature.
