An integrated approach to the organization of cultural and educational activities on the open ground collections of the Peter the Great Botanical Garden BIN RAS (by the example of the genus Syringa L.)

Due to its high decoration, species of the genus Syringa L. are very popular in the collections of the Botanical Gardens. In recent years, the lilac cultivars collection in the Botanical Garden of Peter the Great BIN RAS has greatly increased. Now it is not only a base for scientific research and selection work, but it is also the basis for non-formal education and outreach activities among a wide range of visitors. This publication describes the integrated approach in the popularization of botanical knowledge on the example of the festivals organization dedicated to the genus Syringa L.
