An integrated approach to training university lecturers in e-learning

The introduction and implementation of e-learning and distance learning technologies are a priority for the development of higher education in the Russian Federation. To solve these tasks, it is necessary to train university lecturers to create and use electronic educational resources in their professional activity. While using distance learning technologies and applying e-learning, modern lecturers face a variety of difficulties. They mainly have a medium and low level of computer literacy and are not sufficiently aware of modern information educational systems. Several teacher-training models have been developed in this regard. They include the technologies focused on e-learning competence achievement and the development of lecturers’ readiness to use electronic educational resources. These technologies have proved to be effective. However, they are non-universal and fail to affect all aspects of lecturer training. Their further development implies the creation of a single integrated approach to training university lecturers in the field of e-learning.
