One of the most important directions of education improvement is the fundamentalisation and integration of modern education and science. From this point of view the author analyses the acute problem of mathematical education improvement on the basis of students' methodological knowledge acquired in the process of advanced study of mathematics. The article contains the characteristic of the most important components of methodological knowledge in the area of teaching methodology in this subject.
