The article review the concept "русский" ("Russian") in its modifications - Rus, Russia, the USSR - in the lyric poetry by Marina Tsvetaeva during her emigration from 19221939. Flickering, partially overlapping meanings are characteristic for the concepts of Russia. In general, they have actualized fabulous, heavenly, poetic meanings, enormous spaces marked. A certain phasing in the perception of the USSR can be observed: from an indefinite spatial adverb "там" ("there"), through the contradictory definition of "Советороссия" ("Sovietrussia") and the ironic "в Эсэсэсэре" ("in the Ussr"), to the neutral "USSR". All three concepts, divorced on the axis of time, are found in the poem "Neither to the city nor to the village..." (1932). A common sign of all concepts is a feeling of bitterness, sadness of persons who have left their homeland, the idea of emigrants as unlucky fire victims. There is a conflict between a person with his idea of himself and a mystery country, while the author hopes for the romantic idea of Russia raising its poets as outstanding, special people.
