The article examines the concept of sovereignty in the framework of the philosophical dialogue between Friedrich Nietzsche and Georges Bataille, focusing on issues related to individual freedom and critiques of moral and social norms. An attempt is made to identify the features of the paradoxical thinking of F. Nietzsche and J. Bataille, who embodied in their work the synesthesia of philosophy, literature, irony and play. The concept of sovereignty in the works of Nietzsche and Bataille is compared. The study demonstrates that both Nietzsche and Bataille propose alternative paradigms for understanding freedom, emphasizing the significance of personal choice and self-expression amid moral constraints and prohibitions imposed by society. The novelty of this study lies in unveiling modern scholarly evaluative judgments concerning the specificity and value of Nietzsche’s and Bataille’s literary styles as integral components of their philosophical oeuvre.
