Consensus as the Goal of Elections

The paper analyzes various electoral formulas of electoral systems (relative majori-ty, absolute majority, Condorcet rule). It is established that the specified formulas are aimed at finding a compromise candidate representing the whole of society. Thus, in the case of compliance with the democratic principles of universal, equal and direct suffrage with free and secret voting in elections, a consensus decision is made.
