Constitutional amendments 2020 and adjustment authority of local government bodies in the context of public order protection functions

The additions and changes made to the Constitution of Russia in 2020 are analyzed from the point of view of transforming the status of the institution of local self-government, while the attention is focused on the functions of local self-government bodies in the form of protecting public order. It is noted that the exclusion of this function from the Constitution of Russia is a hasty decision of the legislator, since it is inherently inherent in public authorities of general competence. The situation can be corrected by the relevant provisions in the current legislation.
