Contextual tasks as a method for forming chemical competences

This article deal with contextual tasks in chemistry lessons as a way to form chemical competences. It provides a definition of «chemical competence», «contextual tasks». The value of this type of task is justified. Examples of contextual tasks that can be used to identify and assess the formation of meta-object results in studying of specific topics in the school curriculum of inorganic and organic chemistry are given.
