Such concepts as “creative thinking”, “contextual task”, “laboratory work” are considered. The purpose of the work is to study the influence of contextual tasks on the formation of creative thinking during laboratory and test work. Problems in the traditional organization and content of laboratory work have been identified. Laboratory work based on tasks with a research context is presented. Contextual tasks are proposed that can be used in tests conducted in chemistry classes. The presented results show the positive impact of contextual tasks on the formation of creative thinking.
